Hello from Texas! I’m here for TEDxAustin and I’m going to make some cool images of people. FUN WILL BE HAD!

I’m extremely excited to be in Texas this weekend for TEDxAustin. (And not just because it’s 30 degrees warmer here than back in KC.) Tomorrow we’ll be creating images like these for attendees.

Part of the TEDx registration application asked attendees for their favorite word. My application uses a photo I’ll take of them at the event and creates a portrait like this featuring their word. The image is composed by a system of particles that orbit the person’s face and gradually fill in their features and the letterforms. I’m stoked to see what great images we’ll create tomorrow!

Portraits will automatically be uploaded to our Flickr page, so keep an eye on it tomorrow to see the latest.
