I can’t get any work done with the incessant Mardis Gras parades outside my window.
If you haven’t met my girlfriend fiance Season, she’s a fantastic singer. We like to sometimes hit a bar that’s doing karaoke. She gets the chance to sing in public and I get the chance to watch her sing in public. It’s a win-win. Tonight’s trip was to Bulldog and all told, it was a fun night. A stripper from the club next door stopped by to butcher nearly a dozen songs. Season sung two that were just fantastic.
The bar started to clear out and this older guy who was clearly twelve beers into an eleven-beer night asked if he could sing his grandmother’s favorite song. I started recording about half-way through. It’s strangely sweet. And if you take a second to think about it, amazingly sad. I thought I’d share.

Boulevard’s highly anticipated Chocolate Ale will be in stores and bars soon. If last year’s release was any indication, it’s going to be hard to get your hands on a bottle of this tasty stuff. That’s why I created a web app that will help you find Chocolate Ale.
Where To Find Boulevard Chocolate Ale
Enjoy! And good luck!
Anyone else in the Crossroads been noticing all the new robot faces? I kinda like ‘em.
Hey Kansas City friends, if you missed the plaza lighting ceremony tonight, I’ve created an animated gif that will give you an idea of the excitement and wonder that you can only experience during such an amazing event.
Ways In Which My Life Has Changed Since Becoming The Pitch’s “Best Comedy Blog”
- People are starting to recognize me on the street and say things like, “Why are you laying on the street?”
- Many local bars stopped charging me for ice.
- My self-esteem has reached levels I haven’t experienced since puberty.
- The city decided to change the name of Avenida Cesar E Chavez to Chris M Riebschlager Avenue.
- Googling my name now shows more results for my blog, fewer results for “lewd conduct conviction.”
- I’m once again allowed inside the Ward Parkway Target store, on a trial basis.
- Food just seems to taste better now.
I’m Somebody!
I’m really honored and giddy as a schoolgirl to be part of The Pitch’s 2011 Best of Kansas City. The816 is now legally the best comedy blog in town until 2012. Wow. Thanks guys, I think you’re totally swell also.

Whatever. I once saw the side of a boob.
